1. Fold your paper neatly in half
- Poke an odd number of holes in the spine.
Find some yarn or string to sew the book together– you can either thread it on a needle or tape the end with clear tape to make it rigid. (You can use a book making needle or a plastic tapestry needle with yarn- I most often just tape my yarn though.)
Thread your string through the center hole starting from the outside.
3. Follow the arrows starting in the middle with your yarn. I have included diagrams for 3 holes and 5 holes, they follow the same pattern, start in the middle and stick to one edge, skip the center hole, then stitch to the other edge and come back through the middle.
4. You should end up with both tails of the string threaded through the middle hole. Tie the two ends together into a bow!
5. Decorate your cover and fill your journal!
